Notes upgrade install - is the installer broken?

Is there anything special I should be doing for an upgrade install? I’ve been using 8 since 8.0, upgraded to 8.0.1, then 8.0.2, and now 8.5. I never bothered to check if I was actually getting upgraded files. With the 8.5 upgrade, I started getting a barrage of error popups from the ActivityMonitor and discovered there was an old, long-fixed bug in ActivityMonitor… but the 8.5 installer neglected to actually install the updated files. I decided to take a look into Notes\framework\shared\eclipse and found that a large number of the files were still 8.0.0 versions, while the 8.5 installer (look in updateSite.zip in the temporary installer files) includes 8.0.1 versions of the same files.

Manually updating the ActivityMonitor files solved my problem, but I wonder how many updated features I am not getting because of a failed upgrade install.

what ActivityMonitor bug are you referring to? which files not installed ? log files available?

Subject: Most files not upgraded

I have since un-installed and re-installed 8.5, so I don’t have logs.

As I mentioned before, the files in Notes\framework\shared\eclipse went largely un-touched through my migration from 8.0 to 8.0.1, then 8.0.2, then 8.5. The folders and files in the features and plugins sub-directories of that directory have the version in the file name. I had never looked into it after upgrading to 8.0.1 or 8.0.2, but after installing 8.5 and getting incessant ActivityMonitor popups, I did some searching on the ActivityMonitor problem and found this:

That got me wondering if I had an older version of ActivityMonitor so I went looking in my Notes directory and discovered that I still had ActivityMonitor 8.0.0. And almost everything else was still 8.0.0 as well.
