I just got notes to work, but when i try to access my mail… it gives me the error:
The Remote server is not a known TCP/IP host
there is some one who knows what that means and how to fix it??

Subject: Notes R6 works, but…
Please give a little more info…
Where is your mail? on a Domino server, or are you using it as a mail client against an ISP’s mail server?
You are saying you’re using the Notes client on Linux…?

Try pinging the server by using the name and see if you receive a response.
If you don’t then there is possibly a WINS or DNS issue on your LAN.
Try opening the server by IP Address rather than name and/or setup a connection document providing the transaltion from Name to IP Address
If you know the IP Address, then try pinging the IP Address
If you don’t get a response, then your connection to the network is in question and you should talk to your Network Administrator.
A lot of the time this occurs is because the DNS holds the name of the O/S server and not the name of the Domino Server, therefore you need to provide a DNS record to assist with the translation or a Notes Connection Document.
