Hi, Have a user with following error.
when using “Views - All Documents”
And do a search for e.g. “6 hour” then attempt to open certain emails get error with window title “Lotus Notes”, yellow traingle icon with black exclamation mark within it and error message of “Note item not found”
I have noticed if one clicks on “Clear Results” button to clear search the contents of the search remain the same and if he attempts to open the same email item it opens with no error. I have searched IBM site & found LOADS of references to “note item not found” but not found a good hit
Done following so far.

rebuilt indexes shift+f9 - made no difference

updated all views ctrl+shift+f9 - same error but after clicking clear results the results change and you have to sort them to open the email or open the view inbox find the email find it & then you can open it ok.
3.Refreshed the desgin - made no difference.
4.replaced the design from with Mail R6.ntf - made no difference.
client version Rel 6.5.5.
Have full text indexed search turned on.

Does anyone know what is causing this please and if it can be resolved, when posting please explain what the steps do many thanks.

While you didn’t provide enough details to be certain, this sounds like a known issue reported in SPR # ATHS6JCJW9, titled: “Note item not found” when previewing SMIME encrypted document after a FT search. Close the preview pane, or you could View / Show / Search results only (untick) followed by View / Show / Selected only (tick).

UPDALL -R

Compact -D
Discard any built view indexes -D Discards built view indexes. Use this option to compact databases just before you store them on tape, for example. Does copy-style compacting.
Rebuild: All used views -R Rebuilds all used views. Using this option is resource-intensive, so use it as a last resort to solve corruption problems with a specific database.
This will rebuild the view and hopefully deal with the NOTE error that you are having.
You could run a FIXUP -F (all documents) before to clear out any possible issues else were.

You’ve rebuilt the views, but it is the full text index that you are searching, and it sounds like the index is corrupted. If you have the rights, you can rebuild it from the client by deleting the index and re-creating it (file>database>properties>search tab). Can also rebuild the index from the server console with:
load updall filename -X
