There seems to be absolutly NO support for CSS in HTML Emails for Lotus Notes - even the good old Outlook Express is able to render CSS.
Anyone know if there is anything at all supported to Notes Email except HTML ?

“Good old Outlook Express” actually uses Internet Explorer to display HTML mail – it doesn’t even attempt to convert the content to “native” format. Notes does not use a browser to display mail. That being said, the latest releases of Notes are better than previous versions, and Notes 7 is better yet. Still, it isn’t displaying HTML – it has to convert the HTML to its nearest-equivalent Notes Rich Text. Most, but not all, inline styles are converted, but style sheets (style elements outside of the flow of the document) do not, as a rule, convert.

Thanks to both of you, i cant do the formating in richtext.
I just have a general problem - we place a footer below each incomming mail - some HTML Newsletters have a sophisticated formating so that the footer will be sometimes displayed to the right - next to the HTML text - instead of being below the HTML - there is an easy workaround in CSS for this - but i cant apply it to Notes ![]()

I think you need to do the richtext style formatting because Notes’ email is in richtext format. I could be wrong.
richtext styling can be a lot of work.
Good Luck.
