I have tried to reactivate my Notes R.11 client for IMAP access to my Gmail account. IMAP worked with previous releases R.<11 on my mail.nsf. But now on the R.11 client after replication I get an error message "File does not exist".
HCL support files hint to a necessary 'modification' of the user's mail.nsf : https://help.hcltechsw.com/domino/11.0.0/conf_howdominomodifiesmailfilestosupportimap_c.html . I understand that these 'modifications' are outlined for Domino IMAP-services, rather then the client.
On my Notes workspace I get additional tiles <<GMail "my Gmail user name" (IMAP)>> which bring the client to crash when clicked upon.
I don't need/want IMAP services on the Domino server side, just the client.
I think I followed the usual instructions including "EnableImapFolderSynch=1" for the Notes Preferences/Notesini file.
Any ideas about specifics in the setup and/or settings ? Can the perhaps necessary 'modifications' be executed on the (Mac-)Client, or, does an already adapted Mail-Templatefile exist?

It appears that a file is missing on your setup. Can you check your local names.nsf(Address book) > Advanced > Accounts. Do you see the Incoming and Outgoing accounts for GMAIL server?
The one account-name entry for 'receive internet mail' in the names.nsf looks OK so far as I understand (I only want to activate incoming messages from Gmail). And, as I said in opening the post, it worked in my Mac client R.<11 before.
Yes, there should be a file missing. My guess is that this is somehow related to the "pseudo"-tiles (i.e. no *.nsf behind) on the workspace (see screenshot). Whenever I touch one of these two tiles on the workspace the Notes client crashes. And, I remember having a similar named file appearing in my Notes home data directory. Currently, this file is not there anymore.
I see, if that is the case. I would suggest creating a case for support to check the NSD to see what exactly is happening when it crashes.

Thanks JJM - I will come back to the issue. - Ludwig
The problem persists on MacOS Notes Client 11.1.
But, no problem with MS Windows Notes 11.1 Client, using the same <mymail>.nsf. IMAP works here with two IMAP accounts; the new messages show up in the Inbox-folder.
It may require more testing on MacOS. Did you create a case for it for support further troubleshooting?
Thanks JJM: This function is not so important for me. In case I need I'll use my Windows version on VMWare, which just works fine with IMAP. I am saving the "cases" for functionalities which are really important for me, and, as it turned out, there were quite a few in the past :-))
But, I am glad to jump in if anybody wants to go deeper on this Mac Client 11.1 IMAP issue.
