Hi All,
I’m in the process of upgrading all out Notes Clients from 8.0 to 8.5 via smart upgrade. The upgrade process runs fine but I’ve noticed in the Domino Address book the Notes Client Build doesn’t update to Release 8.5. Has anyone experienced this or know of anything that may cause it?
I’ve noticed it only seems to happen when the client is installed via smart upgrade, the ones I have upgraded manually have updated in the address book, but I’m using the same install files.
The only thing I’ve found when searching was a problem where this would hapen on Previous releases to 6.5 when the InstallType parameter was missing from the local notes.ini but this isn’t the case here.
Thanks for any assistance
Subject: Check admin4.nsf on User’s Home Server
See if an
“Update Client information in Person Record”
for that user is getting deposited in admin4.nsf on the user’s Home Server
Then verify admin4.nsf is replicating from that Domino Server to the Administration Server of the Domino Directory properly (I’ve seen replication Temorarily Disabled on occasion for admin4.nsf in the Replication Settings)… If the request made it to the Adminstration Server see if it had any errors processing the request.

Verify that the client is authenticating with the home mail server in their location document. You can see what the client is doing via DEBUG_CLIENTRECORD=1. The client will only ever send a unique request once for the user/build. That request should be in admin4, it might have been mailed to admin4 so look for any mail routing errors.
