Notes client are slow if not used for a while

We have upgraded our company to the version 6.5.3 of the client, and the servers are all 6.5.1 or 6.5.3the problem is that after the upgrd of clients we are experiencing slow performance on pc.

I’ve seen that only certain clients are slow, and I’ve found a particular situation there: the client Notes is iconized for a while before becoming slow.

If they open the notes client, it works good, whit fine performance, and on the task manager I can see that its using about 35Mb of RAM. if they leave in background notes, and work whit other application, it leave some RAM until using only 6 or 7 MB. Now, if they reach mail, or switch to notes, they have to wait for a lot of seconds before using the client well!!!

It’s possible to set the software for being not so slow if not used for a while?

Yes. Buy memory.

Probably your problem is that the software is being placed in the virtual memory. When you try to access the software again, Windows (or whatever OS you have) would have to load the virtual memory data back again in the eletronic memory from the HD, and this takes time.

There are some Windows API calls you might use in order to avoid this application memory from going to disk, but, I would not recomend it (it could mess up with your PC’s performance for other applications if you succeed), and the job of messing with this would be a highly specialized one.
