Notes Client and lotusscript

Hi,I asked this question before as part of a different thread but never actually got a satisfactory answer.

Is it possible to run a LotusScript agent/program (whatever) as a background process when the Note Client starts i.e. the LotusScript agent would run in a “separate thread” but would be part of the Notes client and would have access to the client UI?

If it is possible, how would you “install” such an agent on the Notes client?

Thanks,

Damien

Well, I hate to say it’s impossible… because some aspects of what you’re asking about may by some slim chance actually be possible, but not the whole package.

Maybe you could slip an agent into bookmarks and maybe somehow get it to run. I doubt it, but it’s all totally undocumented so what do I know? Even if it did somehow manage to work, though, I can’t imagine that there’s a Notes customer in the world that would allow you to install such a thing, mainly because it’s all but certain that IBM would say that it’s absolutely not supported, voids the warranty, do not pass Go, etc. Plus given what you’ve said about the type of access to the client UI that you want I’m quite certain that even if by some chance it did run, it still you still won’t get what you need.
