With the new Codeweavers Crossover Office (based on wine), the Notes Client 6.51 can now be installed and run und Linux without any hassle. Even AWT Java agents run now (they don’t run on normal wine). Pretty cool!

Do you have the version number? Were you able perform everything from Formula to LotusScript?
Appreciate the additional info.

It’s the latest version from Codeweavers 3.0 (http://www.codeweavers.com). Should run on any newer Linux Version (I run it on gentoo 2004).Everything works except the Server Console, which is not a problem for me, because I access our server via ssh.

I’m a bit curious why CodeWeaver’s own application compatibility database A) doesn’t list R6.5.1 and B) lists R6.0.5 as “Known not to work”. I’d prefer to see a “Gold Medal” next to Notes, myself, but maybe I’m just picky. (grin)- Doesn’t mean this is not a perfectly viable solution, it just means CW’s app data does not yield any usable information at present.

I’ve been very interested in using Notes on Linux for some time, and SP2 was the LAST straw. One would surmise this works better than Wine? I seen no indication on the web site.

Thanks for your time…

Thanks Peter. I am going to try it out on my Mandrake Linux workstation. If so then I am going to convert as well to this product.
Good post buddy! Cheers

Thanks for the update Peter. I’ll be downloading and testing tonight. $40 is well worth the price of a fully-working Notes install on Linux.
(Oops, they’ve temporarily disabled the trial download of Crossover Office Standard. I might have to take your word that it works and buy before I try ![]()
