Notes 8 - Working offline not working

Hello,

I’m trying to set up replication on a laptop so the users can use some databases when not connected to the the network / Internet. These are the steps:

I open the databases and choose File > Replication > New Replica

I set the replication schedule so that they replicate every 60minutes and everytime I open / close Lotus Notes.

After closing Notes I disconnect from the Internet and log on using “Offline” as location, but somehow Notes is still trying to use the databases on the server instead of the local replicas - I get the error that the server cannot be reached.

Looking at the “offline” location I can see the the mail location is “on server” and I change it to “local” and save. But everytime I restart the client it seems to revert back to “on server”.

I fairly new to Domino Administration, so I might have missed something. Can someone help me with this?

Policy documents on the server may be resetting the mail file location, check desktop settings for the policy tied to your user. You may work around this for testing by right clickling the mail icon on the bookmark bar, open replica (or manage replica), select local. In the long run editing the policy should help, Desktop settings, mail tab, Mail file location. Policy should eventually reapply. hth
