Notes 8.5 halting OS X 10.6.3

System: OS x 10.6.3Client: 8.5.1

System halts when the Notes client is opened for a new user - no crash, no logs generated just a general system halt.

Scenario: We have been given the requirement to enact Active Directory based security on the Macs which we are persuing through the use of AdmitMac. We have no issues with the AdmitMac software, it operates exactly as we need it to but for some reason the changes it makes in the Home folder appear to confuse Notes when its initially setting up.

When establishing an AdmitMac relationship with an Active Directory identity the software reads the homeDirectory AD value as the Home folder for the logged in user and established the Library folder there. At the same time it retains a replica of the Library folder locally in the /Domain/[active directory domain name]/Users folder.

We do have one user successfully running Notes but frankly we have no clue how it happened. We can confirm that they are writing their Notes information to the network based Home folder but that’s as far as we’ve been able to take it.

So far my Google searches for instructions on installing Notes on a AD enabled Mac have proven fruitless, I would appreciate any particular pointers to getting this sorted out.

Thank-you.
