Notes 8.5 Code Drop 12 hangs (CPU to 100%) when replying to specific message received via Internet

a Hang - not a crash. Only remedy is to kill notes with “nsd -kill” or "nsd -dumpandkill

To reproduce, I reply with history to the message received from “Pablo D ESTURILHO pesturilho@hsbc.com.br” . I suspect that it would also happen if I forwarded the message. This occurred with another message that had two at least two items in common with this one 1) it was received from the internet 2) contained graphics.

I have attached:

A) the message from “Pablo D ESTURILHO pesturilho@hsbc.com.br” in a copy of my mail file (open ACL) .

B) two NSDs captured while the Notes client took up all of the available CPU (nlnotes.exe in the task manager)

Actions I have taken to try to correct/prevent:

  1. un-installed and re-installed Notes 8.5 CD 12

  2. ran nfixup on all files in my \notes\data directory from a DOS command with Notes shut down as per>>

  3. un-installed and reinstalled Swiftfile 4.0

  4. run compact on my mail file.
