Can report I have the same issue on 8.5.1 as well. Although adding new line would work for various notes.ini issues in the past, it doesn’t help in this instance.
update
I do have a second ‘lab’ domain for where I like to break stuff. It’s currently in an ‘out of the box’ install and putting the line in the plugin_customization.ini did work. Sadly I bet this means something is slightly snafu in production. It’ll be fun tracking that down
I deleted the workspace directory, then called up Notes and applied all my settings, without doing anything else. Then I exited Notes and saved a copy of that “clean” workspace directory.
Every day, just after closing Notes & DDE, I delete the workspace directory and copy that saved version with my settings, effectively “resetting” it. I only started doing that on Monday, but this week DDE has not exhibited any flakiness what-so-ever. (knocks on head) This is the first time in my life I’ve gone an entire five days without DDE messing up in some fashion.
It’s right tragic that one should have do these shenanigans to make DDE work, but there it is. If Lotus can’t field a reliable product, at least there appears to be a workaround. Just wish I’d have started doing this eight months ago. Who knows how much time it might have saved?
Please ignore this post - issue resolved. There were multiple plugin_customization files on the desktop (in different framework\rcp directories) and the wrong file was modified. Works fine now.
I have the same issue - Install & Application Management menu items do not appear after adding the framework line. I deleted the workspace folder and restarted Notes but those menu items still don’t show up. That is the case for my 8.5.2 install on Win7. My 8.5.1 install on XP has both showing up no problem.
Could it be either an 8.5.2 or a Win7 ‘thing’? Any other suggestions?
