Notes 8.5.1 and .eml-files

Good morning everyone,

using the great file navigator widget from the opentNTF project, I have 2 questions:

  1. Is there any coding for creating .eml-files from a notes mail without the workaround of storing RichText as mime and mime export (this ist not really stable.

  2. Is it possible to use Notes as “the” eml-Viewer without having installed quickr. ->There ist a hint to modifiy the registry but this is not working on my machine, and the hint is in the quickr help, so I assume, installation of quickr client is a prerequiste.

Background: I’d like to use this format for storing selected mails in SAP and connecting them to SAP objects.

Any suggestions very welcomed.

Thanks Stephan

Subject: File Navigator

The openntf project “File Navigator” can save documents as eml. I asked the lead chef if he could share that code so I could put it in an agent or something for future use but he didn’t respond. Maybe you can offer him compensation. I could not.

Subject: Export to SAP

Hi Stephan,

If you wish to store selected emails to SAP, you may also consider exporting the emails as PDF files.

This way, you preserve the original message layout and file attachments from Lotus Notes.

My company provides a solution for this. You may find it worth a look:

It includes both a toolbar add-on as well as LotusScript API. You don’t need to install a printer driver or any DLL.

It also allows you to export multiple emails as PDF packages. Here is a screencast demo:
