Hello everybody
I hope you are doing well.
Does anyone of you have experience with Lotus Notes Basic Client 8.01 on MS Terminal Server? Does it work? I know it is not supported, but maybe its just not tested yet. I am looking for something like redbook or documentation…
Thank you very much in advance for every comment…

Subject: What kind of supporting document are you basing this on ?
I assume that you found some sort of technote saying that Notes 8 basic is not supported on Terminal Server ? If that is so, can you post the link ?
What kind of installation you are planning ? Multi user install or the “network folder” type ?

Subject: That doc is for Citrix, not Terminal Server
That’s why it doesn’t mention Terminal Server, doesn’t necessarily meant that it is (or isn’t) supported. I not really sure what is the “official” statement about this, I only know that it is possible since I have done it in R5 and R7 (and since you said R8 basic it should be the same). I think it is supported on R7 since I use to open a PMR with IBM support about this, but you have to use multi-user install.
So once again I ask you what kind of setup you plan on having.
-
Multi user install where notes data is placed on Document and Setting
-
Network folder install where notes data is placed on a “fixed” mapped network drive.

Subject: Is Lotus Notes supported on Windows Terminal Services?
Answer:http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=475&context=SSKTWP&context=SSKTMJ&q1=Terminal+Server&uid=swg21196881&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en
What kind of installation would you recommend? Multi-User oder Network-Installation? I would prefer Multi-User Installation…
Thank you

Subject: Ah, so they “renewed” their policy
I guess the link you gave made the support issue very clear. However that doc also said that Lotus Notes on Terminal Server will work.
If it is multi user install you wanted, just install it like a usual multi user install, albeit from the Add/Remove program.

PS : on the early version of Notes 7 there is a bugs on multi user install where you have to do additional work afterward to made it usable for the next user. I think it should be fixed on later version and probably in R8 too.
