Hello,
My Notes client version is:
Release 8.0.1 HHF36
Revision 20080214.1630-HHF36 (Release 8.0.1 HF105)
Standard Configuration
It appears that everytime I am clicking on an incoming email (from the internet), the client hangs for 10-15 seconds (program is in “not responding” mode).
This only happens for mail coming from the internet. All intranet emails are opening properly without hanging.
In addition, when I forward such emails to someone in my organization, and I go to the “Sent” mail folder, it opens smoothly without hanging.
Has anyone had experience with such problem?
Thanks.
Subject: Try installing Windows updates
We also saw this problem on a couple of workstations running the 8.0.1 Standard client. It seems only to happen when trying to render HTML formatted mail. (Doesn’t happen if you then forward the same message to yourself.)
Didn’t happen if Basic was launched instead. Didn’t happen on other machines. Wasn’t tied to virus scanner, JVM, or other installed software (so far as we could tell). Still present when we replaced the single-user Notes+Designer+Admin with our regular Notes multi-user build.
My colleague finally fixed it on one machine by installing all applicable Windows updates. We haven’t yet tried the other problem machine.
Hope that helps. Please respond to the thread with your experience.

Subject: Thanks Rupert! worked like a charm!
It was indeed a problem of HTML email rendering. After installing ALL windows updates (except for “Hardware” drivers), it works!
Thanks a bunch!
