Bug? [I am on 6.0.2 CF1 but another user in our company using 6.0.3 had the same results]
Not prompted for Save in this situation:

Open a document

Double-click a Word [or any other] attachment and choose edit.

Make a small change.

Save your changes within Word (Ctrl-S), but don’t close it.

Alt+Tab back into the document containing the attachment.

Press Ctrl+S to save document but don’t close it [Note: If I hit ESC before saving at this point I am prompted to save]

Alt+Tab back to Word and make another small change to the attachment.

If you press the ESC key, you will NOT be prompted to save the document and you will lose the last update. It does not prompt me to save even if I close the attachment at step 4 and reopen it before editing again at step 7.
I also created a new blank database with 1 form containing 1 field and the same thing happened [I was trying to remove the possibility that it was the coding in the original application that was causing this].
When trying this in Notes mail with a draft email this did not happen. I AM prompted to save in the mailfile. So the mailfile has something in it [intentionaly or otherwise] to prompt for the save - but it’s such a huge chore to try and figure out the code in the mailfile! I did step thru this with debugger a few times but not seeing anything obvious.
How does Lotus detect that a document has changed?
Is there a way I can work around this ‘bug’ without adding code to prompt for save everytime the user closes the document?
Is this a bug? It seems like after the first save of the Notes document that Notes loses its ‘hook’ on the attachment - it happens whether I close the attachment or leave it open and flip back and forth.
