Non permanent SMTP server

I have two servers in two different locations.

One is permantly receiving mails on MX1.

To avoid spam and because traffic is low, the second is set as

SMTP listener task:

Disabled

My problem is : if I need my second server to receive mail, I have to change the setting above in the Public names db before a ‘start SMTP’ command is accepted.

So I changed Disabled to Enabled and add a

Program name:

nserver

Command line:

-c “tell SMTP q”

Enabled/disabled:

At server startup only

Program document.

But this command does not show up on the log…

The question is : is there a way to have that server ready to receive mail on a ‘start SMTP’ command

I hope that my question is clear to you  !

Thanks for your suggestions.

Subject: re

To enable SMTP you should enable SMTP listener in the server configuration document, the program documents related to the smtp task should by disabledthe SMTP task will be loaded at startup

If you prefer your second server may receive emails without SMTP trough the first server, create connections documents to do this if they are not in the same NNN
