Hello,I Have this kind problem with my Notes client. I get notification of arrived mail(sound alarm and the yellow marker in the WinXP systray). But when I check in the Notes there’s no new mail. I’am also the administrator of our Domino server so I have full access to the server. When I got these notifications I checked the server console but there was no mention of a mail coming to my address. What can cause these notifications? Any hints?

On the earlier versions of Notes 6 the popup you have new mail would be displayed even if new mail had not arrived. This was caused because the check every **mins for new mail is enabled and it counts unread mails in your mail file as being new mail.
The only way around this was to either read mails on arrival or disable the check for mail every ** mins and use a manual F9 to refresh the mail views.

Thanks Poogie,However I’m not sure that this is the case. I’m reading the mail as it comes and this happens even if I don’t have any unread mail on by mailDB.
This really is’t a Major malfunction but just bit weird.

There are 2 lines in the notes.ini that state with NewMailSeqNum Delete these and restart Notes. This has fixed the problem for us.

Not sure about release 6, but on rel 5 it can usually be fixed by deleting any lines starting with NewMailSeqNum in the notes.ini file for the user.
