Nomad server upgrade causes error: File does not exist on NotesDocument.send

We're using the Nomad 1.0.12 PWA, and now our users are experiencing an issue with some code that until recently worked perfectly well. Nothing in the code has changed, but now they get an error (File does not exist); with no information on what file, just that it does not exist and the particular line number of the code. It's the following call that fails:

Call docMemo.Send(False)

I logged into the Notes client (release 14.0.0FP1) using an ID that I know has failed in the PWA, and it works fine; the mail is sent to the server which then routes it to the internet.

We have also noticed that disabling the dynamic desktop policy for these users and resetting Nomad is also successful. However, this is not a solution; this policy will be needed to control replication for our users.

The only other change that was made since it worked correctly was an upgrade to the Nomad server to v1.0.12.

If anyone has any suggestions, they would surely be appreciated.

Can you clarify "until recently worked"?

In particular, was it working with 1.0.12 and then stopped recently or did it stop working when you did the update to 1.0.12?

In 1.0.12, of particular interest is the NWASM-7024 fix noted in the Release Notes:

https://support.hcltechsw.com/csm?id=kb_article&sysparm_article=KB0090289

Prior to that fix, the dynamic policies were not being applied. This was due to a name format mismatch in the Nomad code that prevented the policies (along with other things) from being applied (that code was getting skipped). Therefore, in 1.0.12 with the name format handling internally fixed, all of those things that should have been running based on the name (including dynamic policies) but were not, now run.

In your case, that would mean that the dynamic policies were never being applied properly before 1.0.12, and now they are. So, that means it is quite likely that what was working before was working more "by accident" and that accident was fixed.

It would be best for you to open a formal support case so that we can get all of the specifics on where you are calling Send() (presumably in some app that you have) and look into why it isn't working.

Thanks, Robert.

"Until recently worked": At that time, an email was successfully sent to an internet address. Since then we have upgraded the Nomad server to 1.0.12. Now, instead of sending the email, we get an error "File does not exist".

Thanks for that answer. Please open a formal support case.
