I am attempting to install a wildcard ssl certificate ( *.domain.example ) on a domino server. The certificate was originally acquired on a Linux apache web server. I have no problem creating a key ring or adding the appropriate trusted root CA in domino. I am, however, unable to successfully install the certificate. I receive an error message stating that “no private key exists for this certificate”.
I have the RSA private key that was used to for the Certificate Request on the non-domino server. Unfortunately, I do not see any means to force domino to import this private key. I am not certain but it appears that Domino’s “Create Key Ring” process creates the private key for the domino server. I have not yet figured out any way of modifying, viewing, exporting, or importing a private key within a domino Key Ring.
Am I missing something? Come on, McFly! Am I wrong in my assumptions about the private key within the domino Key Ring?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Daniel
