Nfixup - log.nsf: file does not exist

Hello!

I experience a very strange behaviour when doing a nfixup on the names.nsf on my server.

I type in:

nfixup names.nsf

Result is:

Unable to open log file \log.nsf: File does not exist.

Of course, the file does not exist in the program path. I have no clue at all what’s wrong here.

Windows 2008 Server, 64bit

Domino 8.5

Windows User has full administration rights

Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Irene

Subject: What directory are you typing nfixup names.nsf from?

Should be from the Domino Server Program Directory…

Can you send notes.ini to me as well?

Subject: Yes, nfixup in program directory

Hi John,

yes, I run the nfixup in the notes program directory.

I’ll send notes.ini to you. There have been

no changes in the notes.ini. Data path is

correct. Otherwise the domino server is

working properly.

Subject: Run As Admin

Hi…I just ran into a similar situation (compact instead of fixup)and found out that I had to run the command-prompt ‘As Administrator’ for this to work :-/

Subject: compact problem - elevated command prompt does the trick

Thanks, I was happy enough to stumble across your posting when this happened to me. I’m pretty sure, I knew that at some point in time before, but I did not remember.

The root problem seems to be that the error message is all wrong. The problem is about access rights.
