New Install of Lotus Notes Client 8.0

I had a computer with Lotus Notes 7.5 installed and running. I purchased a new computer and installed Lotus Notes 8.0. What files and/or folders do I need to move to the new install in order for me to get it to run? I need to know all needed files/folders and new locations to copy them to.Thank you,

Subject: Just Copy

The Names.nsf and all of the Application that are in Old computer - *.nsf or *.ntf from DATA Folder - But rename the OLD ( New 8 Names.nsf ) Address book dont overwrite it until you have your Notes 8 up and running.

You may liket o copy the desktop7.ndk but rename it desktop8.ndk this will give you your Workspace back. Locations are usally "c:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\Data"

Subject: Not sure if this is going to be fun without updating the templates.

  • if it is 8.0.0 it is probably a good idea to go for 8.0.2 right ahead - the fixlist is lengthy.

  • usually you move over your installation first, and afterwards do the update. To do it the other way around is not a good idea, definitely not without detailed knowledge.
