All You Ever Wanted to Know about Domino CCB Licensing and DLAU (v14.5)
HCLSoftware has reached another milestone in the HCL Domino license simplification, with 97% of customers now on the CCB license model. This signifies a “steady state” for renewing “rightsized” volumes, which is why we are relaxing the strict mandate of a DLAU report as a prerequisite for all renewals.
While DLAU provides a snapshot of required licensing entitlements, licensee (customer) is always responsible to stay compliant through the entire license period, which may mean increasing the licensing count for any anticipated growth.
In short, to facilitate faster renewal processing, effective immediately, a DLAU report will only be mandated in the scenarios below.
Renewal process:

HCLSoftware will share a bill-of-material with pricing based upon previous renewal user volumes.

If a licensee indicates to the Renewal Manager or Business Partner that an increased volume is needed, this upsell can be based on a formal or informal Self Declaration – no DLAU needed.

If the licensee indicates a small reduction (less than 10%) of any volume, this can be substantiated by a Formal Self Declaration - no DLAU needed.

If the licensee indicates a larger volume reduction (more than 10%), this must be substantiated by a DLAU report (current version 1.2.7) or Formal Self Declaration.
The Formal Self Declaration text for customers is:
“Acting in my capacity as <position title> within <company>, I hereby declare that the inventory declaration below, regarding the use of HCL Domino products within our company and affiliates, is accurate as per the definition of Authorized Users here:
