Excuse my new ignorance.I’m hopefully getting back into the Notes world after a few year switch into other things.
We’re spinning part of the company off into a new corp.
The new corp will need much of what is in our present domain.
We will be building a new domain for the new corp.
Then we will migrate dbs (copies, not moves) to the new domain.
My guess is the best way to keep everything working is to cross certify the 2 domains, move replicas to the new domain, change ACLs, …
Am I right in my thinking?

Hi Brian,
You are right before you completly shutdown existing system it could be better to test on new target server. But you need to check some of valuable things:

Anywhere in design, domain/server name was hardcoded ?.. You need to change it

Was there Reader/Authors fields in the documents?.. so you need to update the user details in Reader/Authors field with the new domain heirarchy, else the documents could not visible to the user.
Ofcourse, you might have changed the user id’s according to the new domain then it won’t be any problem.
- Is there scheduled agents … then you should refer the server point as new server, else it will fail.
