I have two notes ID on two different domain notes server,two notes ID have the same “common name” with different OU and organization name.i put the “common name” into readers field,but i found out i can’t access this doc by the notes ID on the different domain notes server .why? since reader fields depend on common name to verify access and two ID have the same common name
any one can help?

You cannot rely on a Readers field working if you store the common name (or an abbreviated name). You need to use the full canonical name. It sometimes works but you can’t rely on it. I don’t know why.

You could of course use a role or a group instead of a name.

If a reader field holds a common name, the server will only allow access to the ID of that name that’s in the same organization as the Server’s ID.
To do otherwise would allow anyone to create their own ID files, and impersonate the name of the person who has access.
