I am not a developer, but a contractor who is seeking information on the following.
I am inquiring about an API that will pass the variables from Smartsheet App to Lotus Notes (ver 8.x).
Does an API exist for this type of pass-through or do I need another type of application or solution?
Subject: Try Google…
A Google on “Smartsheet API” talked about a private beta of the API, and I doubt anyone on here has much involvement with it given that a search for “Smartsheet” on these forums turned up zero hits other than your post.
Subject: No need for sarcasm…
I am seeking assistance with Lotus Notes which requires some sort of variable migration from Smartsheet to Lotus Notes…
I don’t need the sarcasm and would rather a reply that would recommend a solution rather than point out the rights and wrongs of incorrect postings to individuals who are seeking help.
Subject: COM? WebServices?
Does Smartsheet support COM?Does Smartsheet support web services?
What about REST/Ajax?
This forum is about Notes, if you want to export from Smartsheet, I imagine you need to check in a forum that discuss that product.
Domino support many standard formats, if Smartsheet can export data in those formats, it should not be hard.
Since Smartsheet seems to be a cloud program, you could have it use REST calls or Ajax to call agents on the Domino server and send info over that way. Or if it support web service, you can build one in Domino to receive the data that way. It’s up to you.
You should try to explain a little bit more exactly what you want to do. I think some participants of the forums here are slightly allergic to people who come here and ask questions without even knowing anything about either what they want to do or anything about notes/Domino.
We seen way to many posters that have been getting some request/question from managment and come here asking pretty uniformed questions…
Perhaps you should contract with a Notes/Domino consultant that can sit down with you and discuss different approaches to what you want to do.
Subject: And no need for you to get shirty
Pimpernel’s answer was neither sarcastic not incorrect
A simple search on this forum would show no hits, so the logical next step is to either search in google, or to get in a consultant who knows both technologies
