Names-Lookup - Possitlbe to first search the public adress book (and not the personal)?

hallo!

we have this problem:

in an notes application we send with script-code an e-mail. In the sendTo-parameter we use a common name (for e.g. “Hans Moser”, who is listed in the public adress book).

When the user pushes the button which sends this e-mail, the name “Hans Moser” is resolved using the personal adress book - this means, if the user has an entry with the name “Hans Moser” in his personal adress book, the e-mail-adress form the personal adress book is used.

Is it possible to prevent notes to lookup the personal adressbook or is it at least possible that notes looks first into the public adressbook?

thank you for you answer!

best regards from austria

Below is a knowledge based article about the issue you are experiancing.

Differences between Recipient Name Lookup and Recipient Name Type-ahead :

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=463&context=SSKTMJ&context=SSPQ69&context=SSKTWP&context=SSRNU3&context=SSRNUY&q1=type+ahead&uid=swg21105261&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en

The issue is meant to be fixed in versions over 8.0.2. They have meant to have made some changes how the lookups are done. This including recent contacts etc. I am waiting to roll this out to our users and see if it does work

Hi Nathan!

Thank you for your answer and that interesting Link.

The remaining question is:

at the type-ahead-setting in the location document you can choos

  • Disabled

  • Local Only

  • Local then Server

but what i need would be

  • “Server then Local” or

  • “Server Only”

is there a way to get that behavoir, meaning that when adressing first there is the look at the n&a book on the server and after that the look into the personal adress book…
