Multi-Byte Character Sets

  • LMBCS, the character-set of Lotus 1-2-3 and HCL Notes / Domino, created by Lotus in 1988.
  • Earlier and later approaches to multi-byte character sets.
  • Unicode, the standard for multi-byte characters sets and UTF variants.
  • Handling of 3-byte characters in Asian languages.
  • LotusScript and Java interactions with character sets. Note: in LotusScript this is via LSXBE and LSXUI.

VoltScript would only use LMBCS when using lsxbe.
