MS 2003 Fax Server and SMTP Notifications

We have a business unit that is using Windows 2003 Server’s fax service for faxing from the desktop. One of its features is the ability to provide an SMTP based notification of the result of the fax process.

Previously these notifications were sent to a smart host that had no problem accepting the message from the fax server.

Now the smart host is gone and has been replaced with a Domino 7 server.

With logging set to verbose, you can see the fax server connect, log in and then disconnect without sending the message.

Anyone see this before? My next step is to break out a protocol analyzer and sniff the transaction, but that will take some time and effort…if it has been fixed before, I would rather know before taking the big steps.

Thanks
