Moving data to another server

Hi,

I’m having a problem. I have a Domino Server (DS) that is currently run on normal computer. For the future growth, my company bought an IBM X series to be used for Lotus Domino. I have done everything in the book.

First, I installed Win2003 server to the IBM X series.

Second, I installed the service patch of win2003.

Third, I installed the domino server using the current server ID and cert.id, as well as admin.id

Fourth, I copied the entire Domino directory from the current server (name server2) to the IBM x series. I got it working normally offline.

Fifth, I put the server to the server room, installed the server cable to the IBM x series. Turned it on, and set the IP to the exact same IP as the current one (of course I have already turn off the current server2). I have a several errors like:

1/ NSD is running. Check the log file c:\lotus\Domino\data\IBM_TECHNICAL_SUPPOR\hsd_all_w32I_SERVER2_04_02@12_06.log

after I have this message, the server stop running.

2/ I can open any mail without attachment on the IBM x series DS. Any mail come with attachment (the mail database was copied from the old server, I copied the .nsf file) after clicking on it, it say “You don’t have access this object store using this Notes”.

Any expert pls help me. I have to stop the IBM X and use the old one buy this time being.

It sounds like you use “shared mail” which would make sense if this is only affecting mails with attachments.

Did you copy across the object store and also, did you copy the notes.ini from the old server to the new one?

Yes, I’m using “share mail”. I saw a folder called share mail in my old domino directory. I will double check whether I have copied it. I have copied the old Notes.ini to the new server. What is that error NSD by the way>???
