Move mail file to another server

Hi,

I have had a user move to another another site within the organisation so I have used the “Move to another server” action in Administrator to make accessing their mail faster (kilostream between the 2 sites). What do I need to do on the client? Do I just have to point it at the new domino server location on the mail file in the Workspace? Or does it do that automatically? I read somewhere about the Admin Requests database but not sure how that is involved.

Thank you for your help in advance.

Kind regards,

Dave

as long as your administration requests db is setup properly everything is automatic when you use the “Move to another server” action in the admin client.

To elaborate a bit: When the user next connects after the admin process, it will change their bookmarks and workspace to point to the new server. In addition, it will send a transaction back to the server that the client has been updated, which will trigger the admin request to delete the replica on the old server.

I also need to move some mail files however some users do not use the notes client. They only use DWA or POP. Is there a way to complete the move (ie have the old mail files deleted) without accessing though the client?

Can the Administration Process (AdminP) run to completion without user interaction? An administrator would like the Administration Process (AdminP) MailMove to run to completion without user interaction.
