Missing Toolbar

Three out of Five days this week when I start the Notes client on my laptop the toolbar is missing.

This image shows the toolbar when it is in place so you know which one I’m talking about:

The only solution is to close notes and restart.

This issue was there with beta 1 and 2 and cd12.

Subject: Looks like your issue is back?

I recall you having this issue back during Notes 8.5 beta. Are you seeing the same errors in your trace logs files as you posted here >>? If different please post your trace logs. In any case I’ll investigate this further.

Thanks,

John

Subject: We need you to enable some extra debugging to help us isolate your issue…

Your previous logs indicate some kind of issue with the toolbar however we need to dive alittle deeper to see what is causing it. Please add the following line to your rcpinstall.properties file -

com.ibm.rcp.ui.controlset.level=FINER

This will enable quite a bit of toolbar debugging information for us. When this issue happens again please attach the trace-log-0.xml as a response doc.

Rcpinstall.properties is located is located in the workspace.config folder. You can edit this file with notepad or any test editor. If you install to the default folders then use the below path to find and edit your rcpinstall.properties file.

C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\Data\workspace.config\rcpinstall.properties

Thank you for the help.

John

Subject: Solved

See this link

I did what was asked (a bit more actually) and all seems fine now. I deleted all entries in the roamingdata.nsf and deleted the workspace folder. after a shutdown, startup and reconfig, another shutdown it now starts the say I expect. If the toolbar disappears again I’ll advise.

thx

Subject: ok, thanks for the update, sounds like that will solve the issue <>

Subject: installed - will report back when I have more info

Subject: Sorry…

Also. please add com.ibm.workplace.noteswc.level=FINEST as well.

Thanks,

John
