Migrate Notes to Exchange

Need to migrate 170 users from Notes to Exchange. I used in the past the CMT BinaryTree tool but the company would like to use the Quest Notes Migrator tool.

Does someone have experience with both tools?

If you used both tools what are the differences?

My opinion is that the CMT tool is better and faster for “only” 170 users and no need to use Microsoft SQL server to migrate the users (Quest tool)…

Subject: Guest is too huge

We used Quest and SysTool because Quest can migrate RTF email body from LN, Systool is fast, easy.

Technicaly you can use only MS Exchange Migrator for LN which is free part of Exchange server. External tool is helpful only for migrating content of room resources. Even this if you ask MS Premium Support, they can reconfigure/autoscript MS migration engine to migrate rooms also.

Remark: if you are awaiting groupware features and LN flexibility on MS platform, you make mistake. We migrated 2500 users to Exchange and still have troubles with bussiness apps to be re-develop from scratch. It is still in process even after 18 month :-(. No app/db template, much more servers,a lot external tools needed to provide the same as LN did etc.

Wich you good luck.

Subject: check exchange forums

you’d be better off checking exchange forums. you won’t likely find much help migrating away from notes in the notes forums.
