Memory

I have 8Gb memory in my OS400. When I run SHOW MEMORY in lotus domino console I see “Memory Available: 2,048 Mbytes” Why my domino serwer see only 2Gb?

When I set in notes.ini :

Nsf_Buffer_Pool_Size_mb=2000 domino don’t start

I have error in console “nsf dbu hash table pool is full”

Why my server don’t see 8Gb memory ??

Platform AS400

Subject: Memory

Tomek,

The Domino Server is only going to use 2-2.5 gb of that RAM. If you want to more fully exploit your hardware, you’ll need to partition your domino server so that you have 2 or more instances running on the box.

I think you set your buffer pool to 2k, above, which is why you got bad results.

I believe there is an article floating around somewhere that goes into some detail about these settings, so search the forum and Developer Network.

Which parametr is wrong. My serwer is wery slow. Procesor is use 100 %

Subject: RE: Memory

Tomek,

I did not carefully read the parameter that you referenced, which had “MB” in it. I still don’t think that you are helping your cause necessarily by fiddling with this parameter, but I was incorrect stating that you had set it to 2mb.

I think you should troubleshoot your server performance before you try to fiddle with these settings. Use logging and debugging, if necessary, to understand which tasks and processes, agents, databases, etc. are hogging resources, then you can figure out a solution.
