There was a practical limitation in 4.5 of about 440 folders/views - this was due to memory allocation on the domino side that was filling up when trying to replicate. We overcame it at that time by increasing some variable I don’t remember in the notes.ini. We have functioning databases in 6.5 with 700+ - I don’t know what the actual limit is though.
So allow modifications and tech them how to remove columns and slide them around. I realize you’ll always have some need for custom views, but 200+ just sounds like a disaster waiting to happen
One thing you could do is put a bit of code in each view post open that collect who opened the view and when. Store the results in a separate db. Then wait. Over time, you’ll collect a list of views that actually get used. You should be able to then go back to your user community and tell 'em that 150 of the views get used once in a blue moon and they’re going bye-bye.
(I think that the 6x admin client acutally collects some of this data so don’t code it up until you’re sure it’s needed).
