Making Lotus Notes default mail client in Windows 7

Good day.My client has a few pc’s with Windows 7 Prof installed and MS Office 2003 Prof with Outlook 2003 aswell and Lotus Notes 7.0.2.They only use Lotus Notes as an email client. When Lotus is installed, we do make it the default email client. The problem the users are experiencing are when they have a document open and they want to send it via email. They click on File, Send to email recepient as an attachment in the document, but then an error comes up saying “Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request”.If we uninstall Outlook, the Send to mail recepient is greyed out.We have even made Lotus Notes the default mail client in Windows 7’s Default Programs and we pinned Lotus Notes to the Start Menu aswell. Please assist with possible solutions.Thanks.

Go to IE and make Note the default email client there as well as in the Win 7 default program.

Under Win XP and Office 2003 there is a key in the registry HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\WINWORD.EXE\TaskbarExceptionsIcons\WordMail which defined the default email program.Don’t know if similar exists under Win 7 but worth a try, isn’t it ?
