Mailing labels for snail mail

Is there a Notes database template that will handle a snail mail mailinglist? Currently we use a MS Excel list of names/addresses and print to mailing labels. How can this be done in Notes?

Take a look at your Personal Address book. In File Print > Documents Style > Format Each Document Using… you see that you can print labels. The Personal Address Book uses the pernames.ntf template so maybe you can use that template for your mailing list db.

I found that, thanks. But if I use the personal address book, I am the only person who can access it. I can give rights to others in the acl, but how do they access it from their machines in other parts of the world?

Don’t use YOUR PAB. Just use the PAB as a template for a database you put on the server. Then grant everybody access to it who needs it. (Better: copy the PAB, throw out the forms, views, etc. you don’t need, and put THAT database on the server).

Yes, but the label feature only works when run from the local database, so if you did put it on the server, then employees who wanted to print labels would need to replicate it locally. Then print the labels.

Import the Excel data into your personal address book (it has to be on local) and print labels from the printing options.
