One of my users had a very strange problem on his Lotus Notes Client. Since a week ago, his Inbox will only show his Unread mails only and these will disappear from the screen as soon as he has read them.
I had a look at the View options and the Unread and View All were unchecked and the options were greyed, ie no one could make any changes.
Tried looking for answers in Help and this forum but so far no luck. So, if any who may have encountered such a problem before and have resolved it, would appreciate if you could share your solution.
His mails are still there except that they wouldn’t display in his Inbox, he will have to view them in the View All view.
This is a common problem caused by the user pressing the “View Unread” button on the Inbox toolbar. Ask them to press the “View All” button, in the Inbox toobar, to revert back to the normal view.
That was what I first thought to be the problem but as I mentioned, when I checked the View options, all the View all and View Unread are greyed, hence and none of these options had been pre-selected nor can I unselect them.
Have tried to compact and run fixup but nothing worked.
I just spent 2 hours chasing my tail with same problem after one of my wife’s periodic luddite attacks on my PC. However, couldn’t find the button referred to until I realised that it was off the right edge of the screen and I had to scroll across to press it! The greyed out View control then became usable again. I guess that’s what happens when you spend all your time developing Web aps and never using the client any more. Well done guys - hope this stops others tearing their hair out.
