Mail Redirect causes multiple logins

I am having an issue with the Lotus Mail Redirect. I am redirecting http://webmail.com to https://webmail.com so the later is what is listed in the redirect. If I type in the full https address then I am only prompted to login once, but if I put in the http address then I am prompted to login then the redirect happens and I am prompted to log into the /mail and /inotes directory. So I have login 3 times unless I type the full path that is in the redirect database. Does anyone know how I might fix this without having to type the full HTTPS path? Thanks for any information!

Problem fixed. I did 2 things to fix this problem.

  1. I created a domcfg.nsf database from the template. If you do a simple search through the help files you will get the instructions. I also created a custom login form inside this (Very easy and way cool to see your company logo when you are loggin in) This whole step may be unneccessary I am not sure.

  2. Open Domino Admin and go to the configuration tab. Expand Server and then click on the Current Server Document. Now open Internet Protocols and inside that open Domino Web Engine. On the Domino Web engine HTTP Sessions section enable Single Server sessions authentication.

  3. Now restart the domino web server.
