It seemed like a simple requirement - yet I’ve spent all day on this getting nowhere!I want to use the new journalling functionality to keep a record all emails to and from people outside our domain.
So I tried firstly selecting to include all documents, but then couldn’t figure out how to exclude internal mail.
Next I tried selecting those with Internet Domain doesn’t include xxx.com, where xxx.com is our domain. This journalled incoming external mail and ignored internal mail, but I can’t figure out how to journal outgoing external mail. Presumably the Internet Domain refers to the FromDomain field, but since this dosn’t exist when it hits mail.box, I don’t see any other way of doing it, if wild cards are not allowed and ‘contains’ actually means ‘equals’.
Any help appreciated if anyone out there has cracked this.

I have ours set to:
If sender contains . OR any recipient contains . journal this message.
This snags a few internal messages but not many and seems to give me a pretty accurate journal.
If anyone else uses something different and gets even better results, I would like to see those.

How many times does “.” show up in “CN=John Smith/OU=Sales/O=Acme”? How about in “jsmith@sales.acme.com”? An internet e-mail address will always contain at least one dot; Notes addresses rarely do.

Thanks Stan. I realised that that was a stupid question a couple of hours ago but have only just got the opportunity to post. I was convinced that ‘contains’ actually meant ‘equals’, based on misinterpreted test results and someone else’s post on the subject, and that was clouding my perception.
