We’re having a problem with random mail file icons appearing on other peoples workspaces. This has been happening for a while and I always chalked it up to people opening other peoples calendars. Lately this doesn’t seem to be the case. It’s happening alot more frequently and to people that have never even talked to or emailed each other. How could this be happening?

Something is either linking them to the database, or they’re attempting to open it somehow.
I have found cases where users will send out mail (usually from iNotes) that includes a doclink to a mail item in the sender’s database; if the receiver clicks the link an icon will be created.
Obviously you know that opening calendars will do the same - usually it seems from a user attempting to create a meeting - if they attempt to drill down on the user’s schedule it will check the user’s calendar (and create a link)
