Mail folders disappear after upgrade to 7.0.2

We upgraded a Notes Client from version 6.5 to 7.0.2, after which some folders disappeared from a user’s mail client. Well, they didn’t disappear alltogether as they can still be seen from a 6.5 client and the Notes Designer. We tried replacing the design, copying the folders, and checked the folder properties, but to no avail.

Has anybody experienced this problem before?

Hi Gerrit

Yes, we had this problem on a few of our mail files. We used the design client to enable “Prohibit design refresh or replace to modify” on the folders that disappear then upgraded smoothly.

You only need to update the design os maildatabases with the option -u

load convert -u mail\xxx.nsf * template.ntf

Where template is the name of the mail template of version 7

The option -u converts all folders with the same design as bailbox, then it doesn’t “dissapear” after convert.

I tried the convert, but to no avail. I had a new development - I copied the folder containing the missing subfolders from the folder it was in to the root level, and the folder copied but also stayed behind revealing the missing subfolders. The subfolders, however, were in a shaded yellow/green colour. The colour does not mean it’s priate, but something else. Any ideas?

If the folders are not yellow and arent private then there are only one response…the folder doesn’t exist

Why?

When you created a folder you can name that like “hello” and the floder will be created but if the folder name is “bye\hello” on the database you will se both folders but only one just exists, these one is “hello” The folder “bye” will be appear in another color than yellow. If you go to Domino Designer and see folders there you will see that.

If you want to create folders and subfolders you must do it one bye one, first the folder and after the subfolders.

Sorry for my bad english
