Greetings all!
I ran a manual upgrade conversion on two users’ mail files i.e. I converted them to the mail6.ntf template. The conversion process seems to have run well but these users are not seeing newly arrived messages in their inbox but have to go to All Documents view in order to see them. Why? Also the top toolbar of the Inbox view seems to be remembering the old one under R5 i.e the green one rather than the light blue colour!
Should I run something else besides the Convert task?
TIA
Pierre
Subject: Mail conversion did not seem to work
Pierre,
I don’t know if this will help, but here goes:
Did you do Database\Refresh Design or Database\REplace Design? Typically what I do to insure a properly design replacement is to check several things. First, open the db in design mode and check each element to insure it does not have “Prohibit Design Refresh/Replace to modify” checked. Then put the template name in the template in the “Inherit design from master template” field. Do at least two Design Refresh tasks in a row on the database to insure it gets everything. If it still has probs, delete the problem element and refresh it again. Voila!
As for the views, you need to do either an updall on the db or open the db and do a SHIFT+CTRL+F9. This will refresh all views in the database. If this doesn’t help, perhaps you should check the mail view and see if perhaps you were running a custom mail template and the mail documents have a different form name than the mail view displays.
Good Luck.

Subject: RE: Mail conversion did not seem to work
Have tried what you suggested but no success.I had once replaced the design of my mail database using a customised template. However I cannot understand why it should not replace the design completely when doing a full conversion. What I have different is the Inbox which is still R5, the rest is R6. Furthermore I am not seeing new messages in my Inbox.
