Subject: AFAIK we never shipped a .wav soundfile, only the “facility” to play one…
…via the old notes.ini parameter “NewMailTune=filename.wav”

I’m glad you’re still involved in Notes/Domino…you’re a cool, smart guy. I was on the periphery for a couple years but am now back in the thick of it (doing JBOSS J2EE on the side). I still can’t believe what a great platform Notes/Domino is. One of my projects is a Notes 6.5 application and, while I’ve had to hunt some workarounds, it’s been able to do exactly what I want it to do. Previously, there was always a compromise. I think R6.5 is a great platform and feel that IBM is doing a very good job. I’m sure there are stresses internally, but I hope they drive the platform AND do the J2EE side of things.
FYI…after 11 years I just saw the most brutally designed application of my life. It’s an extranet application that completely sucks under the covers yet is still able to deliver an advanced, secure extranet. It’s a testament to Domino and Notes that it even works at all (and I’m not kidding in that).
I just might be at LotusSphere…I hope we can hook up for old times sake. Again, thanks for all your expertise…I appreciate it!
