LotusScript... How can I compare a date?

We have a required field using the following code. I want to add the part from the “&” onward to have it look at the “EnteredDate” field and only require this if the document was Entered SINCE Jan 1, 2007.

The thing is… that method ( FieldGetText ) turns the date field into a string, and therefore the > doesn’t work… mismatch.

How can I do this?

If Source.FieldGetText(“PartNumber”) = “” & Source.FieldGetText(“EnteredDate”) > 01/01/2007 Then

	Messagebox "You must enter a Part Number. Please press CANCEL on the next question and complete the field.",, "No Part Number"

	Call Source.GotoField("PartNumber")

	Continue = False

End If

How about changing your code like this -

If Source.FieldGetText(“PartNumber”) = “” & Cdat(Source.FieldGetText(“EnteredDate”)) > cdat(“01/01/2007”) Then

Convert th string to Date and then compare.

You should probably put your date into a notesdatetime field and then use the lslocaltime property in the comparison.
