Lotusphere Hands-on Sessions - Registration Required?

I have to assume that the Hands-On sessions at last year’s Lotusphere (LS04) were quite good, if the extremely long lines waiting to get into these sessions were any indication. I would have loved to have attended at least one of them. I stood in line for over 30 minutes, only to be told that these session had only 20 laptops available and a maximum capacity of 40 people. What a waste of my time (and over 100 other attendees as well)!!!

Hopefully IBM/Lotus will be better prepared to accommodate the interest in these types of sessions. The session abstracts for this year indicate attendance is on a “first come, first served basis”. I guess that means you’ll have to skip the breakout sessions just prior to these events in order to queue up an hour or more in advance. Maybe there are already some folks camped out at the Dolphin, securing their spot in line:-).

Would it be too much to ask IBM/Lotus to have people pre-register for the Hands-On sessions? I would rather not have to skip a breakout session just to stand in line.
