Lotus Traveler vs Mail For Exchange on Nokia E75

Hi,I have Lotus Traveler 8.5.1 on my Nokia E75. It works fine but I cannot:

  • create “meeting” (appointment shared with some other). In the Calendar/setting is not possible configure “LotusTraveler” as preferred Mailbox. I can configure only “private account” as gmail.

  • browse the enterprise address book. I can use only Nokia’s address book

I also tried configure my account with “Mail for Exchange” service on the Nokia. I’m able synchronize the mails and I can also browse the enterprise address book. The client is very “user friendly” and it has a lot of possibility. But there is a problem: it’s “unstable”. I have a lot of errors and often it doesn’t work. I cannot “send a mail”. It’s possible configure calendar with this mailbox but “sending mail” don’t work so is not usable. I check also the admin_log.txt but I don’t understood where is the error.

I ask if someone is using on a Nokia mobile the “Mail For Exchange” (instead Lotus traveler client) with Lotus Traveler Server.

Thank you, regards.

How do you browse your addressbook from gmail?

Corporate lookup for the I-phone/I-touch is currently the only extended directory lookup function supported with Lotus Notes Traveler.

This can include other directories if they are configured on the Domino server using Directory Assistance. Whether this can be done for gmail or not would be a question for Domino Support. If this is what you are looking for i would recommend posting a new thread entitles “Directory Assistance with gmail” or somethin along those lines.

Note: All supported devices do use the Local Address book - so possibly another option is to pull the gmail contacts into your notes local address book.

The inability to create an invitation with atendees is a limitation of the Nokia device - see this info center topic:

As for using Exchange based connection with Traveler from a Nokia device it is not recommended. Traveler access via the ActiveSync protocol has only been tested with the I-phone and I-Touch device and it has been found that ActiveSync implementations very greatly by device manufacturer.
