Lotus Traveler 8.5 will not sync using 8.5 client but works with 8.1.0.x client

I have a problem with a Traveler 8.5 server.

Nokia and WM devices running the 8.1.0.x client software can connect and sync perfectly. Once you upgrade the VM client software to 8.5 it refuses to sync.

I have tried with different fix levels both on client and on server but so far without luck.

Any ideas?

Subject: Traveler 8.5 client

Check to be sure the Auto Sync port is open between the server and device. Ususally this port is TCP/IP port 8642. The 8.0.1 was a little more lenient about this port being blocked, however the 8.5 client requires this port during registration with the server.

Today it works flawlessly, so I guess it is based on the codebase/structure from the 8.0.1 client?
