Lotus script: confuse about how to know what DIM compulsory to declare?

I managed to find the Tutorial that comes with Designer, was very happy to be able to run my own scripts. However, I don’t know whether I am not looking at right place, I don’t know where can I find some guidelines on how do I know what is needed to be declared when running certain function? i.e What DIM is compulsory to declared, what additional DIM that I needs to declare to run additional function?

Just some tips on where to find help on this area will be very much appreciated.

Will

You need to read about “Option Declare” and also scope of variables

My personal preference is to use Option Declare on each and every script. This forces all variables to be declared and means that if you mistype one of them it will fail at compile time when its easier to fix than at runtime.

There is an option in Designer client IDE to automatically add Option Declare to all scripts.
